An introduction level of Vectorworks that focusing on drafting skill and spotlight. For the Advance student who already familiar with this software would be assigned a higher level assignment to accomplish a more complicated project.

Through out the multiple project assignments to understand how the Vectorworks works and apply the skill to become an advanced designer.

This course utilizes a method of observation and eye‐hand coordination that allows even a total novice to achieve realistic representations. Special focus will be given to perspective techniques utilized in theatrical design.

An intensive training and lecture course in designing, hanging, and operating stage lights with practical experience working on Shenandoah productions.

Personal Observation Project:
This is a semester-long project that every individual student needs to take two pictures per week and use the pictures as a reference to transfer the pictures into a simple lighting plot. This project links the contemporary technology, apps, and social media features to help the student to sense the lighting which they might not aware of. The student will pay more attention to the beauty of natural environment to cultivate their designer perspective. |
A demonstration to show the student how to present the lighting concept by hand drafting.
Class experiment:
A demonstration of the relationship between the light source and the lens. I utilize the laser and the haze to show that how does the lens bend the light ray, how the lens provides us a control of the light. The student gets a better idea about the light and the optic compare to just explain the theory from the books. |
